Royal came out with this updated version of their Merlin IV control board around the beginning of 2018, and this kit will replace any Merlin IV control board (part #836182) in any machine manufactured prior to 2012. The old version of the Merlin IV is not available new any longer; rebuilt versions of the old style Merlin IV control board are available on our website occasionally as part #VT2378.
This kit requires a new selection switch harness that is serial number-dependent (this is why we require your machine's serial number before you checkout). Choose your selection button style from the available options, and the appropriate harness will be added to your order.
Royal has a couple different board kits depending on the age of your machine. In general, the kit in this listing will fit any bubble front or live display soda machine that uses a Merlin IV control board, and was manufactured prior to 2012. The board kits for Red Bull machines, and Royal Merlin IV soda machines manufactured after 2012, are different board kits.
